ARC, Stockton on Tees
ARC has a tradition of hosting spoken word events and is the current home of the Apples and Snakes performance poetry North East Co-ordinator Claire Morgan.
The venues also regularly has creative writing activities for both adults and young people, programmes new theatre writing and is home to Café Scientifique in the Tees Valley, a stimulating programme of talks about science and the humanities.

Darlington Arts Centre
Darlington Arts Centre is a regular meeting place for writing workshops, Vane Women and book groups. The centre also regularly hosts poetry readings and events; one night stands with well-known writers and promotes theatre performances.
The venue is also home to the annual Story Engine screenwriting conference (visit the blog)
